EXECUTIVE HEAD TEACHER HONOURED IN UK CELEBRATION OF TEACHING

We were delighted to announce that The Aspire Federation Executive Headteacher, Mrs Catherine Taylor, was honoured with a Silver Award in The Award for Lifetime Achievement for her outstanding commitment to changing the lives of the children she works with every day. Catherine Taylor has spent 37 years working to build a culture of collaboration and high expectations, along with a relentless drive and healthy challenge to ensure outstanding teaching. She has consistently ensured that the most vulnerable children are considered top priority and has worked tirelessly to raise standards.

Executive Headteacher, Catherine Taylor, said: “I am delighted and immensely proud to receive the Pearson Silver Lifetime Achievement Award 2020.  It seems only yesterday when I started my career as a Food Technology teacher and as time has moved on I can honestly say I feel the same passion, excitement and commitment as I did on my first day at work”.

It has been an honour and privilege working in Wigan for the whole of my career and to have such opportunities to be part of the wider local and National Systems Leadership. I would like to thank my fantastic school teams, pupils and parents past and present for their commitment and support in taking our “Infinity and Beyond” vision forward. It is always good to be reminded that the deeds of today help forge our tomorrow. I feel humbled that so many people believe I have made a positive difference to their tomorrow just as they have done to mine. I am looking forward to the “Teaching Oscars” later in the year with all the glitz and golden envelopes and a new dress of course!”
