Learners took part in a communication session linked to their maths topic of money. They used the choose board to select what treat they would like, then found the corresponding coin which matched to pay for their treat. Learners added these to their sentence strip before independently travelling to the snack table to make their request and exchange their money with a staff member. Learners were encouraged to sign key words such as ‘please, thank you, I want’ and other learners used their communication iPad.
