pupil premium
The purpose of pupil premium funding is to close the gap in attainment between those students eligible for funding and the non-disadvantaged.
Schools are eligible for this funding for students who have been:
- Eligible for free school meals in the last 6 years
- In local authority care (CLA)
- Adopted from care
The range of strategies employed are detailed on the pupil premium strategy document which is updated throughout the school year.
Y7 CATCH UP
The Maths and English catch-up premium is additional funding to support year 7 learners who did not meet the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of Key Stage 2.
Landgate School and College aims to use the Y7 catch up funding to support learners overcoming misconceptions, consolidate and promote depth in learning.
The range of strategies employed are detailed on the PE Sports Grant strategy document which is updated throughout the school year.
PE SPORTS GRANT
Primary PE Sports Grant is an initiative that aims to help increase and improve the PE and sporting opportunities for children.
Landgate School and College aims to use to the Primary PE Sports Grant to further raise standards and opportunities in PE for all primary learners and support their healthy physical growth.

COVID CATCH UP
The government is providing schools with £650 million of universal catch up premium funding for 2020/2021 academic year. The aim of the funding is to help learners catch up on education learners have missed due to coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic.
The Covid Catch Up strategy plan has 3 tiers; Tier 1- High Quality Teaching for all, Tier 2- Targeted Academic Support, Tier 3- Wider Strategies such as supporting learners social and emotional needs. Funding has been allocated on a per-pupil basis however, schools should use the amount as a single total from which to prioritise support for learners according to their needs.
Schools do not need to spend the funds in the financial year beginning 1 April 2020, and may carry some or all catch-up premium funds forward to future financial years if they wish.
