PSHEC
Bringing learning to life through PSHE/RSE
PSHE at Landgate school is continually explored and we believe that it underpins the entire school curriculum. It allows us to define who we are, make our own happy and healthy choices, build responsible healthy relationships, whilst also becoming responsible members of our school and local community, thus preparing us to be ready for life after Landgate.
We aim to do deliver a curriculum that is inclusive for all learners, ensuring it will maximise the outcomes for every learners’ individual needs. Learners are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities and experiences across and beyond the curriculum, contributing fully to the life of their school and local community. In doing so they will gain the knowledge, skills and attributes they need in being able to tackle many of the moral, social and cultural issues that they may face as they grow up and become a member of a diverse society. By teaching our learners how to stay safe and healthy, to reflect on their experiences and by building self-esteem, resilience and empathy, we aim to tackle barriers to learning, raise aspirations and improve life chances. Learners will also learn to understand and respect our common humanity; diversity and differences so that they can go on to form the effective, fulfilling relationships that are an essential part of life and learning.
