OUTDOOR LEARNING
Outdoor Learning
At Landgate School and College we are passionate about learning experiences and the impact that outdoor learning has on our learners. Our extensive range of outdoor opportunities within our school and the local area, allows for discovery, experimentation, learning about and connecting to the natural world.
We aim to allow learners to:
- Develop an understanding of how we can look after our environment
- Develop self-awareness, confidence and self esteem
- Develop collaborative-working and communication skills
- Provide positive health benefits-both physically and mentally- and assist gross and fine motor development
Outdoor Learning also prepares learners for accessing Duke of Edinburgh in KS4 by promoting independence, resilience and knowledge of the outdoor world.
