BEST START TO THE DAY
Best Start to the Day Club
Two members of Landgate staff were trained in Nurture, April 2019 and therefore principles have been implemented within the planning and delivery of sessions.
Best Start to the Day Club is founded on evidence-based practices and offers a short-term, inclusive, focused intervention that supports long term progress. Learners attend Best Start to the Day but remain an active part of the their main class group, spending the first hour of their week in Best Start to the Day Club with the aim to return to Breakfast Club in their own class after one term.
Best Start to the Day offers a range of opportunities for learners to try different breakfast foods. They have a range of opportunities to develop friendships, providing them with the social and emotional skills to do well at school, strengthen friendships with peers and develop resilience. Learners gain confidence through their roles and responsibilities during Best Start to the Day Club.
Best Start to the Day provides learners with the social and emotional skills to do well at school and with peers, develop their resilience and their capacity to deal more confidently with the trials and tribulations of life, for life.
