In Retail learners are completing BTEC Level 1 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Travel and Tourism. This is a new curriculum and Learners are undertaking units in Customer service, event planning and team work.

Learners experience a range of learning activities from classroom based work, to mock up role plays to real experiences of dealing with customers at planned events. The curriculum also calls for a variety of external visits. Earlier in the year we visited a careers event and learners enjoyed chatting to the organizers and identifying the facilities available and how information was distributed to the visitors. Future visits to local attractions are being organised by the learners themselves giving practical experience and many transferable and recognised skills.
