World of Work

Transition from Oakfield is a very important part of our students life. In Y14 students are given the opportunity to discuss with a careers advisor and Mrs Gough what opportunities are available for them when they leave Oakfield College.

During World of Work sessions we teach students how to make a CV, interview techniques, confidence building, how to participate in a telephone interview, where to look for work and how to apply. Students are taken out to visit colleges which have ALS and deliver foundation courses. At these colleges we look at what facilities they have to offer and discuss what is best for each student. We are very dedicated in ensuring impartial careers advice and guidance is given to each individual student.
